The Oahu Bike Plan was released by the City and County of Honolulu 4 years ago. The plan was designed to guide Oahu in becoming a more bicycle-friendly community. Presently, all of the City’s transit buses are equipped with bike racks, and you also see the iconic “bike shaped” parking stands all around the island.

When you think of Hawaii, the image that usually comes to mind (besides surfing…) is Hawaii’s traditional form of dance–Hula. As a way of telling a story through physical movement, the performance of Hula is as distinct as speaking in ancient Hawaiian.

“Going Green”, is something you hear quite often these days, it’s become almost cliché. Nowadays around the globe not only individuals, but companies alike all want to help “pitch in” wherever they can to help the environment, “sliming things down, and shaping things up.”

The role of Design in Hawaii:  How, and Where?? “Re:HI – Inspiring Hawaii through Design” is a project which draws completely from various designer’s POV. Recognizing, and re-evaluating design embedded throughout Hawaii’s society, life, culture, tourism, environment, and information areas.
