CLD Places at the Hawaii’s 5-O Design Competition and Award Show, held November 19th at the Bishop Museum
The AIGA Honolulu Chapter hosts the Hawaii’s 5-O Design Award Show every two years. The 5-O Design Competition and Award Show gives industry recognition to graphic works created here in the past two years. It is Hawaii’s only competition specifically for designers.

The Pele Awards is the biggest awards show in Hawaii for companies and organizations engaging in design, advertising, and mass media. The awards ceremony was held at the Hawaii Theater on April 23rd.

Starting in 2011, Clarence Lee Design will begin a new project: “Re:HI – Inspiring Hawaii through Design”. This project will analyze design embedded throughout Hawaii’s society, life, culture, tourism, environment, and information areas. Each story will be taken from the point-of-view of a designer.

The Hawaii Kona Coffee brand BABA’S COFFEE design produced by Kuni Yamamoto, has just opened their signature store, “BABA’S SHOP” in Nara City Japan. Clarence Lee Design was there of course, overseeing the total design production from store design, to interior design and display design.
Clarence Lee Design began participating in a “Public school Re-branding Project” starting from last year. This purpose behind this project is to recreate the visual identities for public middle schools in Honolulu. We recently worked on the re-branding for Jarrett Middle School, which is the second school completed in this project.
